A foreclosure rescue scam artist promises to help a distressed homeowner avoid foreclosure, but his only goal is to extract as much money as possible from the homeowner. He may produce legitimate looking references and client testimonials. After he is hired and papers are signed, he leads the homeowner on for days or weeks giving the appearance that he is working hard to rescue the home from foreclosure. Many times, the scammer has plans not only to extract money from the homeowner, but to actually take over ownership of the home itself. The scammer's methods are varied. I will explain them in detail within the context of this course. If you like, view this

A foreclosure rescue scammer will minimize the fact that the language in his paperwork is confusing and he will not reveal that the agreement strongly favors the scammer. His paperwork may even contain hidden clauses that surrender your home ownership rights to the scammer. Be advised, it is your responsibility to make sure you have read and understood any documents you sign. In almost every case, the scammer's papers are legally binding. Proving deceit is difficult in court, so it is better to be educated beforehand. This mini-course is your opportunity to do that. The course is divided into the nine modules below. The titles are followed by links to each specific module. This format is helpful if you only want to find out about one or two aspects of foreclosure scams. You can go directly to any module without having to read other material in the course that may not apply to you. I hope this format makes the information easier to access.
